The milestones in 40 years of Borer Medical
The first deconex® products for instrument reprocessing in hospitals are developed and successfully introduced.
The first formulation of deconex® 34 GR is launched. The product is used for troubleshooting stainless steel instruments and is still the benchmark for maintaining the value of surgical instruments.
Borer Chemie AG produces the first training videos for the Medical business division. The two clips entitled "Infection? Disinfection!" and "The Gentle Cleanliness" are translated and set to music in ten languages.
Borer Chemie AG receives its ISO 13485 certification, which highlights the conformity of its quality management system (QMS) as a manufacturer of medical devices.
With deconex® 28 ALKA ONE, Borer Chemie AG launches the first product with proven efficacy against prions, which can cause the very rare but fatal Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) in humans.
The deconex® TWIN system is launched as the first 2-component system and innovation for the mechanical reprocessing of medical devices. With its unparalleled performance reserve, it is still the benchmark for mechanical processing today and can contribute significantly to reducing overall costs in the CSSD.
From 1 January 2014, the Borer Medical division also supplies the Swiss domestic market through direct sales, which means that Swiss CSSDs can now benefit directly from excellent process expertise and best-in-class after-sales service.
Borer Medical launches the mildly alkaline, enzymatic pre-treatment foam deconex® FOAM ACTIVE. With this product, pre-treatment and corrosion prevention can begin even in the operating theatre and thus (HF) instruments can be pre-treated for long transport routes.
The subsidiary Borer Chemie Deutschland GmbH is founded with headquarters in Lörrach and a sales office in Großwallstadt. An experienced team of process specialists, as well as application and service engineers, support our customers from the medical sector in Germany and Austria.
With deconex® TWIN xpert, the latest generation of our 2-component cleaning system is launched. The product contains absolutely no phosphate, thus protecting the environment, has an unparalleled cleaning performance and excellent material compatibility, including in the area of flexible endoscopes and robotic instruments.

Borer Medical is a chemical and process specialist in the areas of manual and mechanical cleaning and disinfection of medical devices, including flexible endoscopes and robotic systems. As a supplement to our deconex® products and the matching accessories, we offer a holistic concept that includes services such as basic cleaning, passivation and the derouging of autoclaves. As-is analyses of our customers' entire instrument cycle round off our complete range of products and services.

Since company founder Anton Borer launched the deconex® brand in 1965, our products have stood for best-in-class cleaning performance in "Swiss Made" quality. The first deconex® product for reprocessing medical devices came onto the market 40 years ago.
